Students were engaged and excited to participate in an Hour of Code during math class. First, they watched a short Brainpop video explaining what coding is and why coding is important to know. Then they participated in Lightbot coding which is an easier, user-friendly coding app. Once they understood the concept and felt comfortable with coding, they had the choice to go on code.org or Hopscotch app to continue developing their coding skills.
