Just Breathe.....

With all the demands and expectations we have these days, I am taking a few minutes each day to help students learn how to take a step back and relax. As part of this, we are practicing various deep breathing exercises that students will hopefully use when they begin to feel themselves getting stressed or overwhelmed. Also, if students are at a point where they are having difficutly, either internally with themselves or externally with peers, they can take a break and sit with our class "glitter jar". If they practice some deep breathing exercises while holding and watcing the glitter jar, they should begin to calm down.  We will also be starting to write in gratitude journals. This will be part of our class-wide positive attitude and being grateful year!
