Science of Light

Students worked with prisms, convex and concave mirrors, spectroscopes, and pinhole  cameras today. We reviewed the terms reflection, refraction, and reflection. Ask your child what ROY G BIV stands for!

Students looking through pinhole cameras using a natural light source, the sun behind the clouds.

Convex and concave mirrors and color paddles

Students looking at how white light changes to the color of the rainbow using prisms.  This is caused by white light refracting or bending when it goes through the prism, causing the colors in the white light to separate, which creates the colors of the rainbow, or a spectrum.
