The students chose the book they wanted to read. They work in groups reading the same text but working on different jobs. The jobs include summarizer, vocabulary words, questioner, and connector. They divide the book into manageable parts and decide who has what job for each part of the book. The students work independently until it is time to share their work and ask their questions. It is amazing to observe the students taking responsibility for their work, asking higher level questions, and facilitating their group!
