After reading the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, students brainstormed how the main character, Brian, had changed from before and after the pane crash and living in the wilderness.The students needed to think about how he changed physically and emotionally, as well as how his senses changed. They worked in groups to share ideas. Then the students had the choice to work on the final product with a partner, small group, or independently.
